January 30, 2026  Wow, 29 days are gone for 2026!  How are you keeping up with your resolutions? As far as Personal Health Resolutions is concerned, Are you more worried about NIPAH Virus?  than lacking of exercise?  Missing your daily fruit/veggie intake everyday? This is the reality of life in the Rat Race world:  Everyday, we are bombarded with info, headlines, that potentially affect our future health/happiness. Be it a new Virus, or new tariff, bad weather, a new career opportunity, anyone of these may change the course of my life/your life, and affect your future H/H. How can we deal with these? We need WISDOM to prioritize.  We need structured, reminders, accountability system/s to stay on the SMART we set for ourselves before Jan 1, 2026 came.    As far as health perspective is concerned, my estimate of risk of impact to me, between Lacking of exercise, and NIPAH, lacking/missing/reducing exercise will impact my H/H a lot more than ...
January 23, 2026   We are No. 1 in ASEAN!  Not a good one.     Southeast Asia’s Diabetes Crisis: A Regional Comparison. Here is an article by my colleague that may help us to pull together to push changes in our society, and make an impact: LINK   The emergence of Type 2 diabetes in children as young as eight years old should serve as a policy alarm bell. Today, one in five Malaysian adults lives with diabetes, while more than half are overweight or obese. These figures reflect not individual failings, but systemic weaknesses in how Malaysia regulates food environments, builds health literacy, and prioritises prevention. Despite repeated national strategies and action plans, Malaysia continues to invest disproportionately in treatment rather than prevention. This imbalance is no longer fiscally, medically, or ethically defensible.   ==========================================================================   Some simple actions you can do to...
January 16, 2026   Preventing Cancer, we can do something.    In Malaysia,     From the above medical technology/therapeutic advances, Australia is on track toward eliminating Cervical cancer in their society.  Can we do it here?  Yes, at least for we ourselves, our loved ones, ensure HPV DNA test (for those between age 30 and 65), Pap Smear, before age 30, and HPV vaccination.  These will help to prevent cervical cancer among our loved ones.  World  Health Organization has this initiative  (1 min YouTube) that we all can be in.      HPV Test can be done easily by oneself. Watch this short YouTube.  Early Detection of high risk HPV species and appropriate treatment help prevent cervical cancer. HPV vaccine helps prevent HPV infection, which in turn help prevent cervical cancer.  If vaccination rate high, it is possible for us to eliminate cervical cancer, according to experts.    ...
Jan 9, 2026 33 years ago, my fiancee shared this song with me (Constant Change) . Nice song.  It also triggers me to link to     A Chinese saying, that learning is like peddling upstream, if we slow down our peddling, we not only won't progress, we will digress. The same can be true for many aspects of life, including ageing, health, if we do not put enough effort, they will just slide downward.  Therefore, it is necessary for us to regularly review our health data (Blood pressure, lab tests, and the likes) so that we know where we stand, that we may navigate our ageing pathway and enjoy the journey as best as can be.   Health literacy is the ability to read these health data with understanding, and react it similar to those trained in medical/health knowledge.  Internet has made information freely available, it creates a platform for all sorts of info, accurate, inaccurate, and anything in between.   21st century offers us many te...
January 3, 2026    When was the last time you made new year resolution/s?  2025?  2015? 2005? 1995? How did it go?   Well, usually, mine did not go very well.   And if you look back, you might find it similar, by end of January , most new year resolutions will be gone out of the window.  😅 🫣  Should we make new year resolution?  Jan 4 - Making decision is good, it's like setting the WAZE/Google Map the direction you intend to go.  But it is only the 1st step. What needs to follow is to drive/ride toward the destination (goal/resolution).  In current age, I am very grateful there exists many APP to give us a way of Navigating toward the goal, depending on what kind of goal we set. I feel to start it off, we must understand ourselves well, what work best to keep us on that track/path, what help us to stay on the "WAZE/Google Map" of our goal.  At times, it might be more than just the APP, we might need a buddy...
