Major mosquito-borne diseases in Malaysia,

1 Dengue fever,

2 Malaria,

3 Chikungunya, and

4 Japanese Encephalitis (JE). Last JE outbreak in Penang year 2000, in Barat Day and Sg Bakap areas.

Cumulative Dengue cases in 2026 for Malaysia has reached over 56,700 cases and 49 deaths in mid August. This marks an approximate 30% increase in cases and a steep 66.7% spike in DEATH compared to the same time frame last year.
