Food Safety

 August 28, 2026

Long Weekend is around the corner. We like to get out of the house to do something.  And one of our favorite activities is -------> Food Adventure with care

This enjoyable pass time comes with risk, just like any other activity.

🌎 WORLD FOOD SAFETY DAY is celebrated on 7 June every year to raise awareness about food safety. WHO and FAO have jointly organised a campaign to promote food safety. Theme for

2026 World Food Safety Day is over. It is on June 7.  But I write about it because I just read the circular from Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia), on Food Poisoning Management, in the appendix, it contains

the list of 12 common microorganisms causing food poisong - acute gastroenteritis, with the description of the kind of sufferings (symptoms, severity, incubation period, how much you need to take in likelihood of being knocked out by that microorganism etc).

Eat Hot Food. Drink Hot Drink (Hot as more than 70 degree Celcius), if you are not sure of the hygiene of the place. No salad, fresh fruit juices.

By the way, some of these can be deadly, if not dealt in time. So, watch out when we go for FOOD ADVENTURE.  Enjoy with full fun.  Don't end up in Healthcare facilty (like Clinic and Hospital).

Carcinogen Classification. Stuff to avoid

August 22, 2025   We are afraid of dying slowly, ie Dementia, and Cancers.  If there is a way to prevent these, would you be interested?  Many would go for getting to the root causes, and manage exposure to these.  I want to write about cancer causing agents 1st. International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has evaluated >1000 agents and classified them into classes according to likelihood (strength of evidence) as below:       Here is a short YouTube video explaining this table  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP60nNXqNOo   This time, FOR HEALTH, I bring up about WHAT TO AVOID. to stay in good health (the negatives).  Next week, I should talk about what to GET INTO OUR BODY, or DO to stay in good health (the positives). GROUP 1 means "confirmed" cancer causing agents. Here is the link to the list  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IARC_group_1  as of 2024. Here are some we are familiar with: Viruses - HIV, HPV, He...
